How does Slide Catcher Pro work?

Load a video file (MP4, MOV, or M4V), set your preferred time range and crop area, and click Extract. Slide Catcher Pro automatically detects unique frames, removes duplicates, and lets you export them as a clean PDF.

What video formats are supported?

MP4, MOV, and M4V. Works great with screen recordings and presentation captures.

All processing happens locally on your Mac. No data is sent to any server. No account required. No tracking. The app runs in Apple's App Sandbox for additional security.

What happens if I cancel my subscription?

PDFs you've already created are yours to keep. They're saved locally on your Mac. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in System Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Does it require an internet connection?

No. All processing happens offline. An internet connection is only needed for subscription verification through the App Store.

Can I choose which frames to include?

Yes. After extraction, you can review all frames in a grid view and deselect any you don't want before generating the PDF.

This Privacy Policy describes how Slide Catcher Pro ("the App," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our macOS application. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

1. Overview

Slide Catcher Pro does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or user data. The App operates entirely on your local device with no server-side component.

Slide Catcher Pro is designed to operate entirely offline and locally on your device. Specifically:

No personal data collection: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, device identifiers, IP addresses, or any other personally identifiable information.
No usage analytics: We do not use any analytics frameworks, tracking tools, or telemetry services.
No crash reporting: We do not collect crash reports or diagnostic data through the App. (Apple may collect anonymized crash data through the App Store if you have opted in to share analytics with app developers in your macOS settings. This is controlled by Apple, not by us.)
No advertising: The App does not display advertisements and does not use advertising identifiers (IDFA).
No cookies or tracking technologies: The App does not use cookies, web beacons, pixels, or similar tracking technologies.
No location data: The App does not access or collect location information.
No contacts, calendar, or other device data: The App does not access any personal data stored on your device beyond the files you explicitly select for processing.

3. How the App Works

Slide Catcher Pro processes video files to extract image frames and generate PDF documents. All processing occurs entirely on your device:

Input: You select video files from your local storage through the macOS file picker or drag-and-drop.
Processing: Frame extraction and image analysis happen locally using on-device computation. No data is sent to any external server.
Output: Generated images and PDF documents are saved to a location you choose on your local storage.
No content transmission: Your video files and generated PDFs are never transmitted to our servers or any third party. The only network communication is with Apple's servers for subscription management. We never see, access, or receive your content.

4. Third-Party Services

Apple StoreKit (Subscription Management)

Used solely to manage in-app subscription purchases and verify subscription status.
All payment transactions are processed by Apple according to Apple's Privacy Policy.
We do not receive or store your payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses, etc.).
We receive only anonymized subscription status information (e.g., active or expired) from Apple's StoreKit framework to determine whether you have access to Pro Features.

We do not use any other third-party services, SDKs, APIs, analytics tools, or advertising networks.

6. Data Sharing

We do not share any data with any third party. Since we do not collect any data, there is no data to share, sell, rent, trade, or disclose.

7. Children's Privacy

Slide Catcher Pro is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the App does not collect any personal information from any user, this concern does not arise in practice.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Since we do not collect any personal data, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of.

For Users in the European Economic Area (EEA)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have various rights regarding your personal data. However, since we do not collect or process any personal data, these rights do not apply in practice. We do not act as a data controller or data processor with respect to any user data.

For Users in California (USA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have certain rights regarding their personal information. Since we do not collect, sell, or share personal information, these rights do not apply.

For Users in Other Jurisdictions

Regardless of your location, our commitment is the same: we do not collect your data. If your local laws grant you specific privacy rights, we respect those rights. Since no data is collected, there is no data to exercise those rights against.

While we do not collect or store any user data on our servers, the App operates within the macOS App Sandbox, which provides robust security:

The App can only access files you explicitly select through the system file picker or drag-and-drop.
